Often, as a real estate broker we move through transactions like soldiers.  We do what we are trained to do:  solve problems, put out fires and (hopefully) make it look easy and all just part of the drill.  In my years of helping people buy and sell their properties, many of those experiences get tucked away when the property closes.  It is rare that I take the time to journal about the experiences that we have with the people we serve and the circumstances that take place along the way.  Some can be difficult, some painful, and some not-so-much.  What I can tell you is that they don’t all go so well and that this business is not for the faint of heart. In many industries, case studies are done to tell the story to readers who just might want to hear…

Irma track Monday morning

We are glad to report that the worst of Hurricane Irma has passed by Sant Rosa Beach, Rosemary Beach and areas well to the east of us.

There was no storm surge and winds were strong enough to bring down some limbs but there does not appear to be damage to structures.  Rains thus far have been infrequent and relatively light, and we are monitoring radar for possibility of heavier bands throughout the day.

Most Schools and businesses will reopen Tuesday.

Our prayers and thoughts are with those who have or may soon be impacted by this storm.  We have been amazed to see this storm dissipate like it has.  We are very thankful!

2. Prepare Plenty of Water
If your power or water goes out you…

This year we are seeing less neutrals and more bright, bold colors schemes trending in home design — and right now we are living for Emerald Green across the Emerald Coast.

Deep and dark green hues are a big hit in the interior design market this year and we can't get enough. You can incorporate this accent color into your home with furnishings like a statement couch, a throw blanket or accent pillows. Want something a little more bold? Add a splash of green paint to your walls, choose some colorful cabinetry or incorporate this palette by choosing some deep green mosaic tiles.

1. Office Space
You don't need an entire room or large master bedroom to setup a work space. A spare corner, extra wall space or even a large hallway can be your very own office.

2. Lighting
Find a space that offers plenty of natural lighting to work by and toss in a stylish desk lamp so you can burn the midnight oil.

3. A Room With a View
Setting your desk up with a window view is ideal, but not always possible. If you're work space is set up facing a wall, try hanging some framed pictures and bold prints for some inspiration!

4. Sit in Style
The chair may be the most…
