I am pleased to describe the experience I had with Blake Morar, who was the real estate agent who recently sold our home in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
I have known Blake for over 15 years. He was the agent who sold two lots to us in the neighborhood of Old Florida Beach. We built two homes on those lots. Our first home was magnificent, and when it was time to sell that home in order to build the second home, Blake handled that sale and the house was sold at an excellent price even before it was listed.
Our second home was a magnificent home situated on a beautiful lot overlooking the both the Gulf of Mexico and Draper Lake. When it came time to sell the second home, we again turned to Blake. That home was in a very high price range, and I expected it to take a year or more to sell, especially given the fact that the country, and Florida in particular, was in the midst of a housing crisis. Blake felt that it would probably only take about three months for him to sell, and I was highly doubtful about this. But Blake went into action. Before listing the house, Blake had what was already a meticulous home, and he had it cleaned from top to bottom. The house had an extraordinary number of windows, and he also had a cleaning crew come in and clean every window in the home. In addition, he also brought in some of his peers to find easy ways to make the house even more appealing than it was, which involved minor touch-up painting and minor repairs. At that point, Blake brought in a professional photographer who took pictures of the inside and outside of our home, and the only way to describe those pictures is breath-taking.
At this point, the house was ready to list for sale. But Blake advised us to wait a few weeks before listing while he privately marketed the home to people who were in his extensive database. Within a day or two, six prospective buyers wanted to see the house. The first prospective buyer to see the house made an offer in 15 minutes (that is not a typo). Their offer was a full price offer, cash deal, with no contingencies, and closing in less than three weeks. I was completely dumbfounded, but I was also ecstatic. Let me emphasize that the house was not even listed yet. The sale ultimately went through without a hitch, and we, and the buyers, were extremely pleased.
That accurately describes our experiences with Blake. The only mistake he made was to estimate that it would take approximately three months to sell the house, when in reality, it took only two days.
